Guru was co-founded by psychoacoustics researcher Ingvar Öhman on a single inversion: design for the room people actually have. The rear wall stops being a problem and becomes part of the response — which is why Guru asks you to put the speakers almost against it, under 5 cm, and then set the triangle below.

Conventional three-way floorstanders are voiced in anechoic chambers, then ask you to rebuild your listening room around them — pulled a metre-plus from every boundary, toed in by protractor. Guru's psychoacoustics-driven approach, led by co-founder and acoustic engineer Ingvar Öhman, inverts this: the Guru 28 is engineered to deliver a correct in-room response in real, furnished homes, placed close to the wall behind it.
