Acoustic Energy AE1 40th Anniversary Edition
The Legend Continues: Iconic Studio Sound Reimagined for Today
LAST 2 PAIRS - 1pr x GLOSS BLACK / OPEN BOX or 1pr x GLOSS WALNUT / NEW
In 1987, the original, passive Acoustic Energy AE1 broke all the rules—proving that a compact speaker could deliver true studio-grade performance. Now, the AE1 40th Anniversary Edition brings that iconic design and signature sound into the modern era with meticulous engineering and premium materials.
This isn’t just a reissue—it’s a faithful evolution. From the high-mass aluminium woofer to the custom-designed metal dome tweeter, every element has been reimagined to match the acclaimed sonic character of the original, with subtle improvements for today’s listener.
Legendary Design, Re-engineered for the Modern Era
• All-new 29mm aluminium dome tweeter with ferrofluid cooling and rear chamber design for superior bandwidth, clarity, and dynamic handling
• Precision-spun 125mm aluminium cone woofer, layered with a hard anodized ceramic coating for low distortion and lifelike midrange
• Upgraded crossover network using premium components, tuned for a rich, natural sound tailored to home audio environments
• 5-ohm impedance makes the AE1 easier to drive, without sacrificing resolution or power
Iconic Performance, Elevated
Housed in a dense, RSC-enhanced cabinet finished in high gloss piano black or real walnut veneer, the AE1 40th Anniversary Edition blends audiophile-grade engineering with refined elegance. New dual front ports feature internal flaring for lower distortion and improved bass output—perfect for both near-field and room-filling setups.
Studio Pedigree Meets Home Listening
Whether in a critical monitoring environment or part of a high-end stereo system, the AE1 delivers:
-
Deep, articulate bass
-
Smooth, forgiving highs
-
Exceptional imaging and dynamics
All in a compact footprint that defies expectations.
Celebrating 40 Years of Uncompromising Sound
Built from the ground up with reverence for its roots and a passion for precision, the AE1 40th Anniversary Edition honours a legend—while setting a new standard for what a small loudspeaker can achieve.
