What is the WT-1 test record used for?
It is a calibration disc for turntable setup: aligning the tonearm and cartridge, checking anti-skating, and verifying frequency response using log-swept test tracks. It is not a record for casual listening.
Does it come with a protractor for cartridge alignment?
Yes. A printed protractor pattern is included for setting overhang and offset angle, alongside a step-by-step guide covering VTA, azimuth, stylus contact, tracking force, and anti-skating.
What test signals are on the record?
Side A carries logarithmic frequency sweeps from 20 Hz to 20 kHz at stated recording levels, plus a stepped VU track. Side B has a groove-free band for anti-skating checks and a silent groove for isolation testing.
Is this the same as the WT-2 Laboratory Edition?
No. The WT-1 is the Standard Edition for home setup and everyday calibration. The WT-2 Laboratory Edition is Unitra's more extensive, lab-grade calibration disc for finer measurement.
Will it work with any turntable, or only Unitra models?
It's built to Unitra's own GSH-630 Fryderyk and GSH-801 Edmund turntables but works as a general-purpose setup and test disc on other standard turntables and tonearms as well.
What format and weight is the disc?
It's a 12-inch, 180-gram picture disc pressed to play at 33⅓ RPM.
About the Unitra WT1 Test Record
Dial In Your Turntable — At Home, By Ear
The Unitra WT1 Test Record is a precision-crafted vinyl tool designed to help you verify and fine-tune your turntable's performance under real-world, at-home listening conditions. Pressed as a 180-gram 12" picture disc, it's the friendly, practical way to make sure your deck is set up right — no laboratory, no oscilloscope, just your ears, your system and a carefully cut test record.
Everything You Need to Set Up By Ear
The WT1 walks you through the setup checks that matter most for great sound: confirming speed accuracy, checking channel balance, listening for tracking and anti-skate behaviour, and verifying that your cartridge is aligned and playing cleanly. Because it's designed for at-home use, the emphasis is on audible, repeatable tests you can actually act on — so you can hear the difference each adjustment makes.
A Quality Pressing That Looks the Part
At a substantial 180 grams and pressed as a picture disc, the WT1 is as much a collector's piece as a tool. The extra mass helps it sit flat and stable on the platter for accurate results, and the picture-disc format makes it a handsome addition to any vinyl lover's shelf.

- Practical, by-ear tests for speed, balance, tracking and alignment
- Heavyweight 180-gram pressing sits flat and stable
